Volumizing

If you have fine or thinning hair, you've probably tried all sorts of things to boost your volume! It may seem complicated, but, in reality, there are only a few things you need to remember in order to maximize body and bounce. Click on the tips below to learn more.

#1 A good haircut is (almost) everything.
You will probably never have the thick, heavy hair of your dreams, but you can make the most of your natural assets by getting a layered or razor-cut style. Don't worry – it doesn't have to be 'edgy' looking to work, but you may have to step out of your comfort zone and try a look that is new to you.

#2 Harsh detergents, chemical treatments and heat styling are The Enemy.
While these things may seem to provide a temporary solution to your problem, over time they will weaken your hair and cause it to break. Stick with a gentle, sulfate-free cleanser, such as Get Clean!™ or Get Fresh!™ Shampoo, just say 'no' to perms and take a vacation from your hair dryer and curling iron.

#3 Moisture, protein and acidity are your best friends.
Protein (in moderation) strenthens hair while acidity seals the hair shaft and makes hair shiny and healthy. Ingredients such as Silk Protein, Sodium Lactate, and Glycerin that draw moisture from the air, will plump the hair shaft and make it appear larger. Since your hair is most receptive to these elements when it is wet, you should be sure to apply a conditioner such as Featherweight™ to restore a healthy balance after washing.  Seal in moisture and add extra lift by applying a small amount of Oasis™Moisture Gel to hair when it is still wet.  This moisture-rich leave-in won't weigh your hair down, but will add bounce and accentuate your natural curl.

#4 Healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp.
You should regularly massage your scalp to increase the flow of blood to the follicles. Moxie's Scalp Therapy™ is chock-full of essential and botanical oils that stimulate healthy blood flow, antioxidants that combat free-radicals and herbs that encourage hair growth. Try massaging your scalp as you wash your hair, so that you do it at least once a day. Another method is to gently grab a fist full of dry hair at the root and tug outward, working across your entire scalp.

#5 Apply a Volumizing Leave-in.
To increase hold and volume without hairspray, try applying Hold Up™ Defining Serum to damp or wet hair. Gently lift and scrunch your hair as it dries to enhance your natural wave or curl pattern, spritzing with Sweet Poof™ for extra texture.
