Loving your hair starts with understanding it. Our in-depth Hair Assessments are free to anyone at any stage of their hair journey and are designed to educate and empower you to understand and embrace your natural texture.
Included with any New Client Service or bookable as a stand-alone free service, this diagnostic assessment is available exclusively at the Original Moxie Salon or Certified Moxie Pro Salons.
The Red Door Program
Just like the red door to Founder Rachel's first workshop, the Red Door Program is a gateway to discovery and offers hands-on help and resources for youth who want help embracing their natural hair. The Red Door Program is now accepting applicants between the ages of 5 and 13 from economically and socially diverse backgrounds.
K-12 Curly Hair Education
We're passionate about empowerment through education! Teaching kids to understand and love their hair is a core part of outreach programming.
The Self-Care Fair
Original Moxie is a founding member of The Beauty Block, a trio of inclusive beauty businesses based in our hometown of Ypsilanti, Michigan. Together we host a day of wellness & community to connect small, local, minority and women-owned health and wellness businesses with our diverse community. Our Second Annual Self-Care Fair took place on September 15th, 2024. Join us next year for good food, music, and family-friendly activities!
